Generally, players who bat within the top six and bowl a handful number of overs are the go-to options. They make great captaincy choices as well. So, let’s have a look at five players who can light up the mega-event in England and Wales with their all-round performances.

**Hardik Pandya:**Although it came in a losing cause, nobody can forget the India all-rounder's 43-ball 76 runs in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 final against Pakistan. The 25-year-old is a handy customer with the ball, perfectly capable of delivering his full quota of 10 overs every match. He will generally bat at No.6 or 7 but we might see him coming up the order as well, especially when situations demand his big-hitting abilities. Pandya enjoyed a fabulous Indian Premier League as well.

**Ben Stokes:**The 27-year-old England international is crucial to the balance of the English side as he bats at No.5 and is a vital cog in their bowling unit too. He is particularly effective in the middle overs with the old ball. Moreover, with the World Cup being played in England and Wales, he will have an advantage over other all-rounders. He averages 41.00 with the bat at home with over 1000 runs to his name in 31 innings. As far as his bowling is concerned, statistics of 30 wickets in 30 innings at a strike-rate of 37.6 reads well too.

**Andre Russell:**The Jamaican all-rounder is all set to feature for the Windies after almost a year. He was in unbelievable form in the IPL recently as he scored 510 runs at a mind-boggling average and strike-rate of 56.66 and 204.81 respectively. He picked up 11 wickets to go with his fabulous batting numbers as well. Russell will mostly bat at No. 6 for the West Indies along with being one of their main bowlers. His strike-rate of 130.45 in ODIs complements his tally of 998 runs and his bowling numbers – 65 wickets at an average of 32.73 – are no less impressive.

**Glenn Maxwell:**Maxwell is one of the most dangerous batsmen in the world. He has 2700 ODI runs at an average of 33.33 and an overall strike-rate of 121.95. The 30-year-old was Australia’s third highest run-getter – 324 runs at an average of 64.80 – during the 2015 World Cup and can be expected to step up this time as well. He is a handy off-spinner and has 50 wickets in ODIs. Adam Zampa is Australia's main limited-overs spinner, but expect Maxwell to get a good number of overs too.

**Marcus Stoinis:**Australia have another quality all-rounder in Stoinis. The 29-year-old will bat mostly in the middle order and be one of Australia’s go-to seamers in the middle overs. He averages 38.52 with the bat in 33 ODIs and also has 26 wickets. His innings of an unbeaten 146 against New Zealand a couple of years ago proved his credentials as a quality batsman. This is going to be the first ever World Cup for Stoinis.
