Hence, packing the ICC Dream11 with a number of batsmen will not be the most unwise choice. Here are the top five batters that should find a place in your teams.

**Shikhar Dhawan:**The opening batsman from India might have been overshadowed by Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in the last 24 months, but his consistency in ICC events ensures that he is a must-pick. In 18 matches in ICC events, Dhawan has scored 1113 runs at an average of 65.47 with a strike-rate of 97.71. The left-hander has played 10 Champions Trophy games in England and Wales and has a phenomenal average of 77.88 with a strike-rate of 101.59. He is coming off a good Indian Premier League as well.

Eoin Morgan: Morgan has reinvented his game after a poor 2016 where he averaged less than 30 in the calendar year. He has been averaging more than 42 in every season since. He has had a splendid run in 2019 thus far, scoring 327 runs with the help of one hundred and three fifties in six innings. His strike-rate this year stands at 110.84, which shows the kind of impact the skipper can have on his team.

There is no substitute for experience, and with 218 matches behind him, Taylor is one of the most experienced campaigners in the New Zealand unit

Faf du Plessis: The South African is a big-game player. In the last 12 months, the skipper has scored more than 700 runs in 16 innings at an average of 61.75. With two hundreds and three fifties, he has the skills to anchor an innings to perfection and go on to get a big knock. This trait was on full display in this year’s IPL as well.

David Warner: Warner, coming off a 12-month ban, showed his hunger in the IPL, where he scored 692 runs in 12 games at an average of 69.20. Since January 2016, he has played 41 ODIs for Australia, scoring 2152 runs at an average of 55.17. His strike-rate is over 104 as well, which shows the impact that he can have at the top of the order. He remains a batsman to watch out for.

Ross Taylor: There is no substitute for experience, and with 218 matches behind him, Taylor is one of the most experienced campaigners in the New Zealand unit. Though his career average is less than 50, he averages an impressive 75.28 in the last 24 months with three hundreds and 14 fifties to his name in 34 innings. In 2018, his average was over 91. With an ability to rotate strike at will and play a patient knock, Taylor should be one batsman that users should rely on to get constant points.
