Former England player appointed as Afghanistan's head coach
Trott will take over as Afghanistan's head coach for the tour of Ireland in August. Trott, who played over 200 international matches for England, worked as a batting coach for the senior England men's team on their tour of India in 2021. He was also a mentor and batting coach for the under-19 team.

Afghanistan are set to tour Ireland for five T20Is in the second week of August.
