On this week's ICC Cricket World audio show former Australia Test bowler and ex-Pakistan coach Geoff Lawson talks about the greatness of 50-over cricket and current players Jacques Kallis, Mark Boucher, Albie Morkel and Ricky Ponting explain why they love playing cricket at The Wanderers in Johannesburg.

Lawson said: "The world of cricket is ready for 50-over tournament. We had a good year of Twenty20 tournaments. We are now ready for this eight-team tournament and its going to finish in just two weeks."

Former Pakistan captain Waqar Younis said: "It's not a very long tournament which is the key to success for this kind of an event. We are all going to be involved in it. It's also great to see all top eight teams in the tournament in South Africa."

The show can be used in whole or part by radio stations that want cricket content, while the public can also download it straight from the ICC website at http://www.icc-cricket.com/media_interactive_zone/podcast.php.

This week's show also includes a special feature with Ponting, Kallis, Morkel and Boucher who discuss why one of the tournament venues, The Wanderers, is so popular with players.

Morkel said: "I don't think there's a more apt name for The Wanderers. When the place is packed with people, it really does feel like a bullring. It's a great atmosphere to play in."

Ponting, reflecting on one of the greatest ODIs played at The Wanderers in March 2006 when South Africa chased a target of 434 to beat Australia by one wicket, said: "Even though we scored 434 that day, I don't think we went out in the field just thinking alright let's just go out there, get 50 overs out of way and I am going to win a game.

"I think we have all played enough cricket to understand the game is not like that if you don't pay enough attention to it, whether it is a Test or 50-over game or 20-over game then the game will always come back to bite you."

Apart from these interviews, this week's ICC Cricket World also includes the latest news from around the world as well as updates on the Reliance Mobile ICC Player Rankings.

The weekly ICC Cricket World audio show runs for 15 minutes and has been put together by the ICC's global broadcast partner ESPN STAR Sports.
