Goswami still hopeful of series win

Indian fast bowler Jhulan Goswami still believes that her side can win the ODI series against England despite a disastrous start to the tour.
In the opening two matches of the series, India have been crushed by eight wickets and ten wickets by an in-form England side.
“We can still do well and I believe we can come back and win the series as each and every game is different,” said Goswami.
“Cricket is the most uncertain game in the world.”
Goswami admitted that many of her side’s problems stemmed from an ability to post a good score batting first, with only four players registering a score in double figures so far on this tour.
Indeed were it not for the scores of 44 and 53 not out by Mithali Raj, who has so far made 97 of the 226 runs scored by India in the opening two ODI matches, the situation could have been even worse.
“We are playing quite badly at the moment,” she said.
“The top order batting is not playing as well as they can. If they click it will be different for us.
“In one-day cricket you need runs on the board. It is difficult to bowl when you are defending a low total.”
Goswami also paid tribute to the improvements made by Charlotte Edwards’ England side, since the teams last met in March 2007 in Chennai.
“They have improved a lot. They are playing good cricket having won against Australia in Australia, beat New Zealand in New Zealand and beat South Africa,” she said.
“They are playing good cricket at the moment but we can beat them.”
The next ODI is on Thursday at Taunton and will be played in front of the live television cameras.
