Guernsey and Jersey surge ahead

Tournament host Guernsey and its Channel Island rival Jersey have moved two wins clear of the rest of the pack after three rounds of matches in the ICC European Division 2 Championship.

Guernsey has completed victories over France, Germany and Gibraltar, whilst Jersey has defeated Gibraltar, France and Croatia leaving the two sides unbeaten at the top of the table.

With each side having just two matches left to play things look set for thrilling final day on Saturday as the two leaders meet for their final match of the championship at the King George V cricket ground (KGV).

Provided Guernsey keeps up its winning ways tomorrow when it meets Croatia at KGV and Jersey can overcome the Germans at Port Soif, the two sides will go into Saturday’s game on equal points and fighting for the Division 2 title.

France, Germany and Gibraltar, with one win each so far, are vying for third place, whilst Croatia, yet to get off the mark, will be looking for its first win of the tournament.
