'Haven't seen one of these for a while' – cricket world reacts to another England-New Zealand Super Over

England

After rain led to a delayed start, the match was reduced to 11 overs per side. Sent in to bat, New Zealand openers Martin Guptill (50 off 20) and Colin Monro (46 off 21) provided the hosts with a solid start, and with Tim Seifert teeing away with 39 off 16 balls, they set England a target of 147.

During their chase, England lost three wickets inside the first three overs. But Jonny Bairstow's blazing 18-ball 47, alongside some handy contributions from the middle order, and Chris Jordan's sequence of 6, 2 and 4 off the last three balls of the innings tied the scores to set up another Super Over showdown. CWC19 Déjà vu? What are the odds!

A reminder – if ever one was needed – of the context we're talking about.

As opposed to last time, nobody can contest the "winners" tag that England earned this time around.

He bowled the Super Over on that unforgettable night in July, but on Sunday, Jofra Archer was nowhere near action. Perhaps he couldn't bear the tension watching from afar and felt he needed to something about it.

But when all was said and done, he was happy with the job his mate Chris Jordan had done.

Archer wasn't the only one away from the action, although the rest couldn't seem to find the words to describe what they were going through.

Jos Buttler seems to think the World Cup final happened long time ago. Well, it has been a pretty long English summer...

Having done all he could to no avail, Jimmy Neesham was in search of a hero who could come in and change the script.

They may have given him several nerve-wracking moments on the field over the course of this year, but Eoin Morgan had nothing but nice things to say about his opponents.

Well, that was some T20I series. Now let's move on to the Tests, shall we?
