Cyprus is now at the top of the European Championships World Cricket League Division Four table after a second successive victory in Happy Valley. The hosts hammered Slovenia by 232 runs to follow up its opening day win against Switzerland by 105 runs.

Kapila Wickramathanthrigie, who took six wickets on Tuesday, starred with the bat, hitting 176 not out as Cyprus amassed a massive 360-4 in its 50 overs. Slovenia, made no attempt to go for the runs; and it was bowled out for just 128 in the 47th over.

In the other matches of the day, Switzerland won a low-scoring thriller against Finland by two wickets. After bowling out Finland for 113, victory seemed easy for the Swiss, and although it lost four wickets in the first eight overs, it achieved the set target in less than 30 overs.

Austria claimed a one-wicket win over Luxemborg thanks to an excellent eighth-wicket partnership between Amar Naeem and Satish Kaul. Chasing a target of 143, the pair put on an 89-run stand to help steer the side home in less than 40 overs.
