ICC-ACA East Africa Region Ladies Tournament

Defending champions Uganda defeated debutants Rwanda by 276 runs in the opening game of the ICC-ACA East Africa Region Ladies Tournament in Nairobi .
Batting first, Uganda scored 291 all out with R. Akweyu top scoring with 66 runs. A poor bowling display could only add to Rwanda's woes as it conceded 104 runs in extras to the opposition. However, Mukarurangwa put in an excellent performance taking 3-53.
The second innings saw an even more disappointing performance from the debutant side as none of the batters could stand up to the Uganda bowling attack. Seven batters went for nought in reaching a final score of 15 all out. The bowlers had a field day with M. Ayato being the pick with figures of 4-1 to win by 276 runs.
The other match showed some balance as Kenya defeated Tanzania by five wickets. The home side scored 99-5 in reply to 98 all out posted by Tanzania. Banja displayed excellent performance with both bat and ball - 48 runs and 4-9 respectively - to take her side to victory.
