ICC announces umpire and referee appointments for upcoming series

The International Cricket Council today announced umpire and match referee appointments for the upcoming Test and ODI series in England and the West Indies.

On 15 May the Test series between England and New Zealand gets underway at Lord’s, London. Ranjan Madugalle of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees will oversee each of the three matches.

Simon Taufel and Steve Bucknor of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Umpires will stand in the first Test at Lord’s. The second Test will take place between 23 and 27 May at Old Trafford, Manchester with Taufel and Darrell Hair, also of the Elite Panel, having been appointed to stand.

The third and final Test of the series takes place at Trent Bridge, Nottingham starting on 5 June. Hair and Bucknor will be the on-field umpires.

Six days after the scheduled conclusion of the third Test, the five-match ODI series will get underway at the Riverside Ground, Chester-le-Street. Javagal Srinath of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees will oversee that series while Steve Davis of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Umpires will stand in each ODI along with a local appointment.

Meanwhile, a three-Test and five-ODI series begins on 22 May at Sabina Park, Jamaica with the first Test between the West Indies and Australia. Roshan Mahanama of the Elite Panel of Match Referees will oversee the entire series.

The first Test will be umpired by Aleem Dar of the Emirates Elite Panel and Russell Tiffin of the Emirates International Panel.

The second Test in Antigua will be umpired by Mark Benson of the Elite Panel and Tiffin while the third Test in Barbados will have Benson and Dar standing in the middle.

The attention will then shift to the ODIs. These will all be umpired by Asad Rauf of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Umpires, who will stand with local appointments.

Umpires and match referee appointments for other upcoming series will be announced in due course.
