ICC announces umpires and match referee appointments for upcoming Test and ODI series
The ICC today announced umpire and match referee appointments for upcoming Test and ODI series in Kenya, Australia, Pakistan and South Africa. The three-match ODI series in Mombasa between Kenya and Bermuda, from 11-14 November, will be overseen by Chris Broad of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Referees. Standing in all three ODIs will be Tony Hill of the Emirates International Panel of ICC Umpires. The second on-field umpire to stand in those matches will be appointed by the host country. From 11 November to 1 December, there will be three Tests taking place between Pakistan and the West Indies.
Those matches, to be held in Lahore, Multan and Karachi, will all be overseen by Roshan Mahanama from the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Referees. Standing in that series will be Simon Taufel, Daryl Harper and Mark Benson from the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Umpires as well as Asoka de Silva from the Emirates International Panel of ICC Umpires. The subsequent five-match ODI series between Pakistan and the West Indies will be overseen by Alan Hurst of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Referees. Daryl Harper of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Umpires will stand in two of the ODIs and Nigel Llong of the Emirates International Panel of ICC Umpires will stand in the other three.
The second on-field umpire to stand in those matches will be appointed by the host country. India's tour to South Africa will begin with a five-match ODI series between 19 November and 3 December. It will be refereed by Chris Broad. Billy Doctrove of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Umpires will be one of the on-field umpires in all those games with the second umpire being appointed by the host country. Each of the three Tests in South Africa, between 15 December and 6 January, will be refereed by Roshan Mahanama.
The umpires will be Daryl Harper, Mark Benson and Asad Rauf from the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Umpires. The first Ashes Test between Australia and England starts in Brisbane on 23 November. Referee for that match and the subsequent two Ashes Tests will be Jeff Crowe of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Referees. The fourth and fifth Tests will be refereed by Ranjan Madugalle. On-field umpires for the five Tests will be Billy Bowden, Steve Bucknor, Rudi Koertzen and Aleem Dar.
The ODI tri-series between Australia, England and New Zealand potentially involves 15 matches from 12 January to 13 February. These matches will be split between referees Ranjan Madugalle and Mike Procter and umpires Asad Rauf of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Umpires and Ian Howell of the Emirates International Panel of ICC Umpires as well as officials nominated by the host country.
