ICC Board meets in Dubai on 17 and 18 April

Items on the agenda include the Lahore terrorist attack and its implications for cricket, Zimbabwe task team report, the Indian Cricket League and promotion of Test cricket
The ICC Board will gather in Dubai on 17 and 18 April for the second of the four scheduled meetings it holds in a year.
Among the main items on the agenda are the following:
Lahore incident
The Board will receive a report on the terrorist attack on the Sri Lanka team and ICC match officials that took place in Lahore on 3 March, the scheduled third day of the second Test between Pakistan and the visiting side.
Emirates Elite Panel ICC match referee Chris Broad, who was on duty for the match, will be present on behalf of the match officials to relate his experiences of the incident, make representations and be available to answer any questions the Board may have.
Also present will be Pakistan captain Younus Khan while Mahela Jaywardena, the Sri Lanka captain at the time, will be available from South Africa via telephone hook-up.
The Board will consider the implications of the incident for the ICC and its Members in both the immediate future and the longer term, including any potential impact on plans for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011.
Zimbabwe
The Board will receive a report on cricket in Zimbabwe from a task team headed by Dr Julian Hunte, the president of the West Indies Cricket Board.
The task team was set up by the ICC Board in July 2008 to ascertain details in relation to the state of cricket within the country and to make recommendations to the Board on how best to assist Zimbabwe to improve its cricket so as to allow its return to the Test arena as soon as appropriate.
In addition to Dr Hunte, the task team also included former Sri Lanka Cricket chairman Arjuna Ranatunga and ICC chief executive Haroon Lorgat. Its report has been compiled following a visit to Zimbabwe in November last year.
Indian Cricket League
The ICC Executive Board will consider the ICL’s application for ICC approval to stage unofficial cricket.
ICC Cricket Committee
The Board will consider a replacement for Michael Holding, who resigned last year, as the media representative on the ICC Cricket Committee.
Promotion of Test cricket
The Board will consider means of further promoting Test cricket, the pinnacle of the game.
The ICC Board consists of the chairman or president from each of the 10 Full Members plus three Associate Member representatives.
