On this week's ICC Cricket World Radio Show, ICC Chief Executive Haroon Lorgat is hopeful of yet another world-class event being delivered as he speaks about the launch of the ICC World Twenty20 2012 which took place in Colombo on Wednesday. The ICC announced the match schedule and unveiled the event logo of the tournament which will be staged from 18 September to 7 October.

"The ICC World Twenty20 has become a marquee event. I am pretty confident that Sri Lanka has got the experience to deliver another world-class event. The culture and diversity that comes with Sri Lanka is superb. I know it is a very popular destination for many tourists which convinces me that next year, you will see many foreign people coming to witness this tournament," says Mr Lorgat.

If everything goes according to pre-tournament seedings then Pakistan and India will lock horns in a Super Eight match in Colombo on Sunday, 30 September. It will be a repeat of the ICC World Twenty20 2007 final when India, in front of a packed Wanderers ground, beat Pakistan by five runs.

Mr Lorgat believes these expected match-ups adds to the expectations around the ICC World Twenty20 2012.

"Whenever India plays Pakistan, all the fans become very attentive. People start watching with great interest. If it works according to those seedings, then that match will be a great reminder of the fine final in the inaugural event in Johannesburg." says Mr Lorgat.

A highlight of the tournament will be the fact that for a third straight time, the men's and women's semi-finals and final will be played on the same days at the same venues. Mr Lorgat believes this adds a lot of support to the women's game.

"Women's cricket has come a long way since we integrated it into the ICC. The standard of play is exceptionally good. It is a potential career for players who are interested in it. We are committed to having it alongside the men's on the semi-finals and finals day. So it is something which is unique in world team sports," says Mr Lorgat.

The show can be used in whole or part by radio stations that want free cricket content for editorial use, while the public can also download it straight from www.icc-cricket.com or from iTunes.

Also on this week's show, former Australia captain Ian Chappell analyses Michael Clarke's maiden Test series win as captain in Sri Lanka.

"It was a good win. I expected them to win the series. I thought all along that Michael Clarke is tactically a very good captain. I think there has been some good plusses in addition to the win as some every good things happened to the team," says Chappell.

Finally, former Pakistan captain Ramiz Raja reviews Pakistan's recent unbeaten tour to Zimbabwe.

"Zimbabwe started off well, but have to learn from their mistakes. For Pakistan, it was good to see some of the young faces. Their quality and calibre will be tested when they play against Sri Lanka and England. You can see there is talent and they are playing as one unit. It is all about managing them well," says Raja.

This show has been put together by the ICC's global broadcast partner, ESPN STAR Sports.
