ICC Chief Executives' Committee and Executive Board to meet in Mumbai

The ICC Executive Board will meet on 4 April 2011. The meeting follows the ICC Chief Executives' Committee (CEC) meeting which will be held on 1 April 2011 Among the issues both groups will consider are:
ICC Cricket World Cup 2011
Both CEC and the Executive Board will receive preliminary reports on the ICC Cricket World Cup which concludes on Saturday 2 April 2011 with the final between India and Sri Lanka at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Haroon Lorgat, the ICC Chief Executive, said: "There is no doubt that this has been a magnificent and exciting ICC Cricket World Cup and I am hopeful that it will end with a memorable final on Saturday.
"The future of 50-over cricket seems assured after this fantastic tournament in which records have tumbled and TV ratings and attendances have exceeded expectations and the final TV audience will exceed one billion.
"International cricket is fortunate to have three vibrant and viable forms of the game - a unique position in international team sports. If we succeed in developing context and content to the formats - Test, 50-over and T20 - I am confident that they will all coexist and in fact prosper long into the future."
Mr Lorgat also praised the Great Spirit of the competing teams and the players. "I must thank all the players who willingly gave time to help with our ThinkWise, Room to Read and Great Spirit initiatives. All have contributed tremendously to raising the profile and awareness around these worthwhile causes."
Context and Content for International Cricket
The CEC will consider a report from its working group - comprising David Collier (ECB), Nishantha Ranatunga (Sri Lanka Cricket), N Srinivasan (BCCI), James Sutherland (Cricket Australia) and David Richardson (ICC General Manager ?Cricket) with assistance from statistician David Kendix - on the mechanics for future bi-lateral Test and ODI cricket competition between the Full Members. The group met in Dubai in February, again in Chennai earlier in March and in Mumbai this week.
They will continue to review the new FTP with a view to propose principles that would:
· ensure a sustainable volume of cricket when determining the content of the FTP;
? enhance the context of bi-lateral cricket;
? provide certainty to fans, broadcasters and players as regards scheduling and qualification for ICC events.
The CEC will consider these proposals and make recommendations for the ICC Executive Board to consider.
Strategic Plan
The ICC Executive Board and members of the Chief Executives' Committee met in a joint session on 14 February 2011. Following this productive session to shape the scope and content of the ICC Strategic Plan for 2011-2015, a draft plan will be considered for approval by the ICC Executive Board.
Haroon Lorgat said: "The proposed strategy is the product of wide ranging and constructive engagement held with the world's leading cricket administrators and stakeholders.
"The plan covers a range of strategic topics from the role of the ICC, governance, promotion and protection of the three forms of the game, competition and meritocratic pathways as well as targeted investment."
