ICC Development & Budget Meetings

Ian Stuart attended a series of ICC meetings in Rome between 1-5 November.

The other four regional Development Managers (Nasim ul Ghani-Asia, Hoosain Ayob-Africa, Robert Weekes- Americas, and Matthew Kennedy-East Asia Pacific) also attended, along with World Development Manager Andrew Eade, Project Officer Chris Tetley, Finance Manager Campbell Jamieson, and Chief Executive David Richards.

The ICC Development Program and its impact on the five regions, together with budgets for the forthcoming financial year, were discussed.

The delegates found time between meetings to enjoy a guided tour of Rome, and on the Sunday took on the Italian Under 19 team in a 30-over match (right). Perhaps unsurprisingly, the ICC Development Team (with Italian guests making up the numbers) failed to overcome the Under 19s, eventually losing by 10 runs.

Ian also made a trip up the coast from Rome to see the ground at Grossetto, which he believes has tremendous potential as a venue for future tournaments.
