Preview: New Zealand are one of the two undefeated teams in this edition of the World Cup and are moving towards securing a spot in the top-four. West Indies, on the other hand, have been inconsistent and despite having big hitters in their ranks, they have been unable to get points on the board consistently. The track here will be a flat one, and a run-fest can be expected. With both sides having plenty of batters who can smash the ball out of the park, we could be in for a thriller.

He bats higher up the order and has a chance to score more runs as compared to New Zealand’s Tom Latham who bats lower down.

Batsmen: Kane Williamson, Martin Guptill, Colin Munro, Chris Gayle
Big hitters in Guptill, Munro and Gayle have been chosen as the track here at Manchester will be a flat one with plenty of runs on offer. All three aforementioned players can send the bowlers packing with their aggressive style of play. If even one of these stars get going, a big knock from them can be expected. Hence, they are invaluable players to have.

Kane Williamson is a must-have in the team due to his ability to play the role of an anchor. He showed what he is capable of with a solid hundred in the last game against the South Africans. Hence, if there are a few early wickets, he can always be counted upon to come to the party.

Both Russell and Neesham are capable of changing the game with either bat or ball. The West Indian has picked up five wickets in the edition thus far, and while he has not fired with the bat, his feats with the willow can in no way be doubted. Neesham has a five-wicket haul to his name in the World Cup, and he too is capable of playing crucial cameos in the death overs.

Ferguson has been the surprise package for New Zealand in this World Cup and is his country’s leading wicket-taker at the event. Boult, on the other hand, might not have been among the wickets, but with the conditions expected to help fast bowlers in the first few overs, his ability to swing the ball will hold him in good stead. The West Indian duo of Thomas and Cottrell have 12 wickets among them combined and will have the responsibility of sending back the New Zealand openers early.
