ICC EAP announces Brian Aldridge as Regional Umpire Consultant

The Pepsi International Cricket Council (ICC) East Asia Pacific (EAP) Development Programme is pleased to announce that former New Zealand International Umpire and former New Zealand Cricket Umpires Manager Brian Aldridge has been appointed to the newly-created position of Regional Umpire Consultant.
Mr. Aldridge has been committed to the development of umpires and officials within the East Asia-Pacific Region for many years, acting as the ICC-appointed Tournament Referee for the majority of regional events since 2000 and is extremely passionate about the further growth in the region.
Based in Auckland, New Zealand, Aldridge will be charged with overseeing the appointment and selection of umpires for all EAP regional events, the make-up of the ICC EAP Elite and Supplementary Panels, ensuring that EAP members are well trained and competent.
"The ICC EAP Office is thrilled to have someone of Brian's experience, stature and standing in an official capacity as Regional Umpire Consultant," said EAP Regional Development Manager Matthew Weisheit.
"Brian is highly respected by all officials and indeed Members of the EAP Region, and with his commitment to the region now of a formal nature, we are looking forward to seeing the results of his continued hard work," Weisheit said.
Aldridge added: "As my involvement over many years within the region demonstrates, I am passionate about umpiring and proud of what we have achieved, particularly with the formation of the ICC EAP Elite and Supplementary Umpire Panels, and the fact that we have been one of the most active regions in regards to having umpires placed at global events."
"I will certainly be working with the ICC EAP office and the EAP region's umpires to ensure that this growth continues in the future," said Aldridge.
