ICC reveal Women’s Player of the Month nominees for August 2026
Two stars from Thailand and an exciting young Isle of Man batter have been shortlisted for the ICC Women’s Player of the Month award for August 2026.
Suleeporn Laomi (Thailand)
Thailand spinner Suleeporn Laomi enjoyed a strong run of form in August, playing a key role in her team’s 3-0 ODI series win over Papua New Guinea.
In the T20I series against Papua New Guinea, Laomi claimed three wickets, including a best return of 2/14 in the second match as the series ended 1-1. She continued her impressive form in the ODI series, picking up four wickets and producing a match-winning spell of 3/27 in the final game as Thailand completed a series whitewash.
Laomi also made a strong start to the Asia Cup, claiming a wicket in Thailand’s opening match against Hong Kong, China. Her standout performance came against India, where she returned impressive figures of 3/26
Overall, Laomi claimed six wickets in four T20Is at an economy rate of 5.40 and an average of 13.50. In three ODIs, she picked up four wickets at an economy rate of 3.38 and an average of 17.75.
Nannapat Koncharoenkai (Thailand)
Nannapat Koncharoenkai played a key role in Thailand’s ODI and T20I series against Papua New Guinea. She opened the T20I series with a 30-run knock before producing a crucial 46 in the second match, helping Thailand level the series. She finished as the leading run-scorer in the T20I series.
Koncharoenkai was even more dominant in the ODI series, beginning with a composed 54 in the opening match. She followed it up with scores of 35 and 32 in the second and third ODIs as Thailand completed a 3-0 series sweep.
Her impressive form continued into the Asia Cup. She scored 21 in Thailand’s opening game against Hong Kong. In the second game against India she made 41 and was the only Thailand batter to get into double digits.
Overall, Koncharoenkai scored 121 runs in three ODIs at an average of 40.33 and a strike rate of 80.13. In four T20Is, she amassed 144 runs at an average of 36.00 and a strike rate of 86.22.

Lucy Barnett (Isle of Man)
Lucy Barnett’s performances were instrumental in Isle of Man’s run to the final of the Women’s Continental Cup. She finished as the tournament’s leading run-scorer, producing a century and two half-centuries during the campaign.
In the opening game against Romania, Barnett struck an unbeaten 71 as Isle of Man chased down the target in just 13.1 overs. She managed only four runs against Greece in the second game but bounced back emphatically in the third match against Norway, smashing an unbeaten 123 off just 64 balls to help Isle of Man top their group. She also contributed with the ball in the games against Greece and Norway, returning figures of 1/8 and 1/11 respectively.
Barnett continued her impressive form in the final against Turkey, top-scoring for Isle of Man with a 59-run knock while also claiming two wickets for 22 runs.
Overall, across four T20Is, Barnett scored 257 runs at a stunning average of 128.50 and a blistering strike rate of 178.47. She also picked up four wickets at an economy rate of 3.80 and an average of 14.25.
