David Richardson, the International Cricket Council Chief Executive, said after the announcement of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Disciplinary Committee's decision in proceedings brought against five cricketers in IPL-5: "The ICC notes the outcomes of the BCCI's disciplinary process and commends the Disciplinary Committee for taking decisive action particularly in the cases of the two players who were found guilty of engaging in corrupt practices.

"It is inappropriate for the ICC to comment on the specifics of the case as it is domestic matter, but this matter serves as a reminder that there is a continuing need for high levels of vigilance both at international and domestic level to keep the game corruption-free.'

The ICC Board has previously agreed that every Full, Associate and Affiliate Member should recognise and respect the sanctions imposed against the two individuals found guilty of corrupt practices by the BCCI's Disciplinary Committee, including by enforcing and giving effect to them within their own jurisdictions to the fullest extent permitted by law
