South Africa captain George Van Heerden:

“I think definitely with the scores going into the game, we thought about 230 was around par.

“I thought that the bowlers set the tone really nicely this morning and were then well backed-up by everyone who came into the attack.

“I thought the fielders fielded really nicely – we could have maybe taken one or two more half chances but we were happy chasing 230 today.

“I thought we were well-set for the most part, until around the 35th over when we started losing those wickets in the clusters. I think that really set us back – as we do have a lot of hitters who could have come in and hopefully done the job for us. We lost too many wickets in clusters.

“Our bowlers bowled excellently today – the pitch was quite flat after this morning’s dew and all that kind of thing, so they bowled very, very well today.

“I think the fielding was good for the most part – our top order functioned quite nicely until a point, but we’ll need to round up on that.”
