Scotland, Thailand continue strong form as PNG and UAE clinch key victories on Day 4 of the ICC Women’s Emerging Nations Trophy.
UAE dominated Uganda to claim a commanding 10-wicket victory in a low-scoring clash, securing their second win of the tournament.
After winning the toss and opting to bowl, the UAE attack took control from the outset. Uganda struggled to generate any momentum, slipping to 30 for 2 in the early stages. The pressure intensified further as they lost three wickets without adding a run, collapsing to 38 for 5.
Facing disciplined bowling, Uganda failed to generate any momentum, and managed a total of 75/8 in their 20 overs.
Vaishnave Mahesh stood out with an impressive spell of 3 for 21, while Michelle Botha and Heena Hotchandani picked up two wickets each, even as inspirational skipper Esha Oza chipped in with one.
UAE chased down the modest target with ease, cruising to victory without losing a wicket. Oza led the way with a fluent 48* off 30 balls, well supported by Theertha Satish, who remained unbeaten on 22 off 20 deliveries.

A commanding performance against Tanzania helped Thailand secure a 51-run victory. The side sits at the second spot on points table following their third win in the Women’s Emerging Nations Trophy.
After being sent in to bat, Thailand were put under early pressure as Sheila Kizito removed both openers, leaving them at 37/2 by the eighth over. Nannapat Koncharoenkai (28) and Natthakan Chantham (27) rebuilt the innings with a crucial 49-run stand before both were dismissed off consecutive deliveries. Suwanan Khiaoto’s brisk 17* off 12 balls guided Thailand to a total of 110.
For Tanzania, Nasra Saidi (2/24) and Sheila Kizito (2/18) were the standout bowlers.
Tanzania’s chase never found momentum, with the African side collapsing to 16/4 inside the powerplay. Wickets continued to fall at regular intervals as they failed to mount any resistance and were eventually bowled out for 59.
Sunida Chaturongrattana starred with the ball for Thailand, returning impressive career-best figures of 3/4. She received strong support from Thipatcha Putthawong, who claimed two wickets for merely five runs.
Scotland registered a thumping seven-wicket victory over Namibia to extend their unbeaten run in the tournament.
After winning the toss and opting to field, Scotland took control from the outset. They struck twice in the first two overs, reducing Namibia to just three runs for two wickets. The Scottish bowlers maintained relentless pressure throughout the innings, preventing any meaningful partnerships from developing.
Namibia were eventually dismissed for 74. Katherine Fraser led the bowling effort with an impressive 3/9, while Abtaha Maqsood supported strongly with figures of 3/20. Rachel Slater, Mollie Parker, and Chloe Abel chipped in with a wicket each.
Scotland made light work of the chase, maintaining momentum despite a couple of early setbacks. Darcey Carter (21) and Sarah Bryce (36*) guided the innings with confidence as Scotland chased down the target inside nine overs. Naomi Benjamin was the standout bowler for Namibia with two wickets, while Mekelaye Mwatile picked up one.

Papua New Guinea registered their second win of the tournament with a thrilling eight-run victory over Netherlands
Papua New Guinea won the toss and chose to bat, but an early wicket gave the Netherlands a promising start. PNG, however, recovered strongly and lost only one more wicket for the rest of the innings as they got to 126.
Naoani Vare anchored the innings with a well-crafted 45, while Hollan Doriga provided momentum with a quickfire 39 off 27 deliveries. Skipper Brenda Tau also contributed a steady run-a-ball 34. Iris Zwilling and Caroline de Lange picked up a wicket each.
Netherlands stumbled early in the chase, losing two quick wickets to Henao Thomas before Sterre Kalis (40) and Robine Rijke (29) revived the innings with a 52-run partnership. However, the momentum slipped away in the second half of the innings, as the Dutch line-up struggled to accelerate, leading to a flurry of wickets that left them reeling at 92 for 6.
Netherlands only managed to score 118, falling short by 8 runs. Henao (3/24) and Pauke Siaka (3/22) were the pick of the PNG bowling effot.
