ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 Asia Qualifier Ultimate Guide

Nine teams will be vying for two spots available in the Women's T20 World Cup 2026 Qualifier. 

The countdown to the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 in England is underway. With the venues for the marquee tournament having been announced, the Asia Qualifiers are upon us.

Nine teams will compete it out in the tournament set to take place in Bangkok, Thailand, starting on 9 May for the two available spots in the Global Qualifier.

Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming Qualifier:

Group A: Bhutan, Kuwait, Thailand

Group B: Malaysia, Qatar, UAE

Group C: Bahrain, Hong Kong China, Nepal

Hosts

Thailand are hosting the tournament, and arrive at the Asia Qualifier on the back of a recent surge in the ICC Women's T20I Team Rankings following an annual update. Thailand had also recently featured in the six-team ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025 Qualifier in Pakistan.

Venues

All the matches will take place across two venues - the Terdthai Cricket Ground and the Asian Institute of Technology Ground in Bangkok.

Format

The nine teams have been slotted in three groups, each consisting of three sides. Each team will square off against the other two teams in the group once. At the end of all the group fixtures, the top-ranked side from each group will proceed to the Super 3 stage.

Every team will play against each other in the next round to determine the top two teams that will qualify for the Global Qualifier.
