'I'd love to get back in Australia colours' – Peter Siddle

"I'd love to get back in the yellow-and-green for Australia in the shorter format," Siddle said.

Siddle, the Adelaide Strikers pacer, ended 2018 in style. His match-winning figures of 3/20, which also earned him the Player of the Match award, powered his side to a convincing 20-run win against Sydney Thunder.

The 34-year-old veteran pacer so far averages 7 and has an economy rate of 4.66 in BBL 2018-19. In the last season also, Siddle enjoyed a good run in the 20-over tournament – picking up 11 wickets at an average of 20 and an economy rate of 5.94.

The Australia pacer has featured in 64 Tests for his country, but played only 17 one-day internationals and two T20Is. The last time he made an appearance in the short formats for Australia was back in 2010.

"I think I did (always have T20 bowling skills) but I hadn't played enough to be able to bring them out," he admitted. "Last year, playing a full season gave me an opportunity to train and prepare for it."

With the Ashes series 2019 awaiting in England, Siddle will most likely be a part of Australia's Test side. He revealed he enjoyed playing for Essex in 2018 and loves playing in England conditions.

"If you go back to a couple of years ago, you'd probably think I'd run my course and might not get that opportunity again," he said. "A good winter in England (with Essex) this year got me back in the frame. I've been around the Test team for the whole summer – I'm thereabouts."
