Media accreditation
The media accreditation process ran from 22 December to 7 January. For the first round matches, the journalists don’trequire match day tickets as they can gain entry into the venue by displaying their tournament passes.
However, for the five knock-out matches in Mirpur (two quarter-finals, two semi-finals and the final), entrance to the venue/media working areas will be through a match day ticket.
To apply for match day tickets, the accredited journalists will be required to update their accreditation applications at http://u19media.dnanetworks.co.in/iccstartup.aspx from 1 to 3 February. The accreditation portal will be open from 0900 on 1 February to 1800 on 3 January.
As the ICC will only accredit two reporters and two photographers per newspaper, one reporter per TV/radio channels and one reporter and one photographer per website, the journalists are advised to discuss internally before applying for knock-out stage matches in Mirpur to avoid inconvenience and embarrassment.
Confirmation emails will go out by mid-day on 4 February. As there is limited space in the press box, there will be no wait-list and only journalists who will receive confirmation emails, are only advised to come to the venue.
Meanwhile, the media accreditation centres are now open and passes are available for collection.
Media is advised to collect their cards from the accreditation centre they selected during the online application process and must bring with them a photographic ID. Media will not be allowed to collect their colleagues’ passes without an authority letter from the relevant colleague.
