India-Australia Test Series schedule announced

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has today confirmed the schedule for Australia’s Test series in India in October-November this year.

Bangalore, Mohali, Delhi and Nagpur will host the four matches in the battle for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, with Australia currently holding the trophy after a 2-1 series victory early this year.

After arriving in India on 29 September, Australia will play a four-day practice match before the first Test in Bangalore from 9-13 October. The second and third Tests will be played at Mohali and Delhi respectively before the fourth and final Test in Nagpur from 5-9 November.

“The rivalry between Australia and India has developed into one of the most captivating contests in world cricket,” Cricket Australia CEO James Sutherland.

“The 2007-08 series was highlighted by dramatic, brilliant cricket which added another chapter to the passionate competition between the world’s two best Test playing nations.

“I’m sure all cricket lovers in Australia and India are awaiting the 2008 series with great anticipation.”
