Former Australian coach John Buchanan has expressed that India’s show Down Under earlier this year and Australia’s new-fangled lineup will add to the factor of uncertainty in the imminent four-Test series.

The current Australian squad does not have the experience and expertise of stalwarts like Glenn McGrath, Shane Warne, Adam Gilchrist and many others.

Commenting on the present squad of the Aussies Buchanan told Cricinfo in an interview, “I agree that the aura has somewhat been diminished by India’s performance in Australia earlier this year. And that’s why both teams will be a little bit uncertain of each other.”

“This Australian side is different. There is no question about that. For this team, consistency will be defined by how it relates against other Aussie sides previously,” he added.

However, the Australian who is currently coaching the Indian Premier League (IPL) team Kolkata Knight Riders denied that the current World Cup winners are vulnerable.

"This team is definitely not vulnerable. It's quite the opposite. Teams that go into a series thinking they are invincible and unbeatable are the ones that are vulnerable. The Australians are not going into this series as invincibles, but they do have the belief." Buchanan stated further suggesting that Aussie skipper Ricky Ponting will be the key player in the upcoming tourney for the visiting side.

The Border-Gavaskar Trophy will be starting on October 9.
