Since making her international debut in 2009, Kaur has played six Test matches, 161 ODIs and 189 T20I matches. She has been a massive part of women’s cricket revolution in India and led the team to their first world championship last year, when India defeated South Africa in the final to clinch the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup title.
Prolific with the bat, Kaur has scored 4409 runs in 140 ODI innings, at an average of 37.05, 200 runs in Tests and 3820 runs in T20Is. She has scored eight centuries and 38 fifties for India.
When asked about the record at the toss on Thursday, Kaur said: “It's a great achievement for me. Hopefully I will keep doing the hard work for the team and keep playing as much as I can.”
She top-scored with 36, but India lost the second T20I against Australia by 19 runs, which levelled the series. The deciding third clash will take place in Adelaide on Saturday.
