India name replacement for injured all-rounder
Nitish Kumar Reddy will miss the upcoming T20I series against England and Ireland with injury.
Suryansh Shedge has been named as a replacement for Nitish Kumar Reddy in India's squads for the upcoming T20I series against Ireland and England, after Reddy was ruled out following a left quadriceps injury.
Reddy reported discomfort in his left quadriceps after the third ODI against Afghanistan on June 20. A subsequent assessment by the BCCI Medical Team confirmed the need for a rehabilitation period, ruling him out of both series.
The 23-year-old Shedge comes into the squad on the back of a strong showing for India A in the recently concluded tri-series in Sri Lanka. Batting in the middle order, he scored 147 runs across five matches and contributed with the ball as well, sending down 23 overs over the course of the tournament.
Shedge was also among the standout performers for Mumbai in their victorious Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy campaign in 2024-25, accumulating 131 runs in the lower middle order at a strike rate of 251.92.
