India pacer withdrawn from England, Ireland T20Is

Prasidh Krishna will replace Mohammed Siraj, who has been prescribed rest to manage his workload in a busy international season.

India pacer Mohammed Siraj has been withdrawn from the T20Is in Ireland and England, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed on Tuesday, June 9.

Siraj will be replaced by Prasidh Krishna for in the squad for both the upcoming tours. 

The right-arm pacer, who recently played in the one-off Test against Afghanistan, has been advised a period of rest. It is a precautionary measure taken following a discussion between the BCCI medical team and the Indian team management.

With a long international season ahead of them, India have opted to withdraw Siraj from the T20I squad to ensure adequate rest and recovery.

The reigning ICC Men's T20 World Cup winners are set to play two T20Is against Ireland in Belfast, on June 26 and June 28. This will be followed by a five-match series in England, starting July 1.

Shreyas Iyer has been named the new T20I captain ahead of India's T20 World Cup-winning skipper Suryakumar Yadav. 

Meanwhile, a key feature of the upcoming assignments will be the teen sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who also received his first India call-up and is poised to make his debut.
