Vaibhav Sooryavanshi produced a knock for the ages in the ICC Under-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2026 final against England, registering the highest individual score in a final in the tournament’s history.

Sooryavanshi’s breathtaking 175 off just 80 balls surpassed Unmukt Chand’s long-standing record of 111*, set in the 2012 final against Australia. Batting with the aggressive flair that has become his trademark, the opener showed no signs of pressure on the biggest stage, giving India a dream start.

Watch the highlights of India's Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's brilliant knock of 175 runs from 80 balls against England at the ICC Men's Under-19 Cricket World Cup 2026 Final.

He brought up his half-century in just 32 balls, followed by a rapid second fifty that took only 23 deliveries, as he powered his way to a record-breaking century. His remarkable innings included 15 fours and 15 sixes and came at a blistering strike rate of 218.75.

The score of 175 is also the highest ever by an Indian in Under-19 World Cup history, surpassing Raj Bawa’s 162*, which came against Uganda in the 2022 edition. In the broader context, Sooryavanshi’s knock ranks as the ninth-highest individual score in Youth ODI history, with Ambati Rayudu (177* vs England in 2002) the only Indian ahead of him on the list.

Adding to the feat, Sooryavanshi shattered Dewald Brevis’ record for the most sixes in a single edition of the Under-19 World Cup. Brevis had struck 22 sixes in the 2022 tournament, while Sooryavanshi, who had already hit 15 sixes before the final, matched that tally in the title clash alone to finish with a staggering total of 30 sixes in the tournament.
