John Gloster, who served Indian cricket for three years as physiotherapist, has decided to quit after the conclusion of the ongoing Commonwealth Bank Series in March.

Gloster, who had replaced Andrew Leipus as the physio of the side in February 2005, has conveyed his decision to the Indian Cricket Board authorities.

"Gloster does not want to continue. He has expressed his desire to quit. He has informed the Board regarding this," BCCI Secretary Niranjan Shah was quoted as saying.

Shah said the BCCI will appoint a new physiotherapist for the home series against South Africa in March-April.

Gloster joined the Indian team in February 2005 when he replaced Andrew Leipus after working with the Bangladesh team for four years.

After graduating from the University of South Australia, Gloster worked with the Surrey County Cricket Club for three years from 1998 to 2001 before he was appointed the physiotherapist of the Bangladesh cricket team and the physio had a four-year stint with the side before he joined the Indian team.

King to quit as well

It has also been reported that the Indian cricket team’s trainer Gregory Allen King will be leaving the team to pursue other endeavors at the end of the tour Down Under.
