India's spinners hold sway on Clarke's day
Australia skipper Michael Clarke top-scored yet again for his side on a disappointing first day's play for the visitors.
Australia declared at 237 for nine at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad.
India ended the day at five for no loss.
Earlier, Harbhajan Singh and Ravindra Jadeja bowled magical spells after tea to leave Australia in tatters before it declared its innings.
Jadeja picked up the wickets of Moises Henriques, Glenn Maxwell and skipper Michael Clarke in quick succession to leave Australia in deep trouble.
On the other hand, Harbhajan picked up the wickets of Matthew Wade and Peter Siddle.
Early damage was done by Bhuvaneshwar Kumar who knocked over the Australia top-order to leave the visitors at 63 for four.
It required a 145-run fifth wicket stand between Clarke (91) and Matthew Wade (62) to bring things back on track.
