Information for the media intending to cover the ICC CWCQ in NZ
The ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier New Zealand 2014, one of the biggest tournaments in ICC’s Associate and Affiliate Members’ calendars, gets underway on Monday with warm-up matches to be played on 10 and 11 January.
On the first day of warm-up matches, Group A’s top seeded team, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), will take on Group B’s Uganda (Bay Oval 1), while Group B’s top seeded team, the Netherlands, will take on 2009 runner-up Canada (Bay Oval 2).
In the south island, Kenya will face Hong Kong (Christ's College), Scotland will take on Papua New Guinea (PNG) (St Andrew’s College), and Namibia will battle Nepal (Burwood Park). All three venues are inChristchurch.
Day two of warm-up matches will see the top two seeded sides, the UAE and Netherlands, go head-to-head (Bay Oval 1) and Canada face Uganda (Bay Oval 2), while Scotland will take on Namibia (Christ's College), Kenya will face Nepal (St Andrew’s College) and PNG plays Hong Kong (Burwood Park).
To assist journalists, a number of media facilities have been put in place and are detailed below.

Playing hours
Match timings for most matches will be as follows:
First session: 1030-1400
Interval: 1400-1445
Second session: 1445-1815
Reserve days have been set aside for matches that cannot be completed in one day.
For all matches at Bay Oval 2 in Tauranga, the match timings will be:
First session: 1100-1430
Interval: 1430-1515
Second session: 1515-1845.
Warm-up matches cannot be rescheduled if bad weather prevents the matches being started or completed.
Facilities at venues
For warm-up matches, there will be no internet or media centre facilities provided at the venues. There will, however, be lunch provided to members of the media accredited for the event. There will be live, ball-by-ball scoring from each of the warm-up matches on http://www.icc-cricket.com/.
For all matches in the group, Super Six and final there will be a tabled, sheltered, press box available to all accredited members of the media. The facilities will include power points, wireless internet, all-day light refreshments, lunch served during the break in innings, access to scorers.
Unless there is significant demand, there will be no formal post-match press conferences. Through the venue manager or team managers, media can request interviews with players or coaches as appropriate.
Daily round-ups
Daily round ups of each match day of the ICC CWCQ NZ 2014 will be circulated to media and available on the ICC website here, as well as on the ICC Media Zone.
The ICC Media Zone is free to access and available to all media. Media needing access to the ICC Media Zone can register itself at http://www.icc-cricket.com/mediazone/ and obtain login credentials.

Media accreditation pass pick-up
For those members of the media who have successfully applied for event media accreditation, the passes can be collected from the match manager from the location nominated in your application form. On arrival at the venue, please ask for the match manager who will deliver the pass to you.
