Cricket Ireland has announced a squad of 14 players for the forthcoming ICC U19 Cricket World Cup Qualifier in Toronto, Canada from 1-13 September 2009.

Ten ICC Members will battle each other in a bid to grab six qualifying spots and compete with the ten Full Members in the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2010 which will take place early next year in New Zealand.

Ireland has retained the same squad which has won the recent European U/19 Championships in Jersey except for wicket-keeper batsman Adrian D'Arcy replacing left arm spinner Jack Blakiston-Houston.

The team departs for the competition on Friday, August 28, which means that Paul Stirling will be available to play in the One Day International at Stormont against England if selected.

The squad in full is as follows:

IRELAND: Andrew Balbirnie (captain), Ben Ackland, Adrian D'Arcy, George Dockrell, Shane Getkate, Graeme McCarter, Graham McDonnell, Lee Nelson, Stuart Poynter, Eddie Richardson, James Shannon, Paul Stirling, Stuart Thompson, Craig Young.
