Ireland name squad for maiden New Zealand Test

Ireland will face-off against New Zealand for the first-ever time in the Test format later this month.

Ireland will host New Zealand for a Test match that is scheduled to run from 27-30 May.

New Zealand had already named their squad for their tour of Ireland and England, and now Ireland have named their group.

Andrew Balbirnie will lead the side for the 10th time in the format, whereas Ireland will be without Paul Stirling, Barry McCarthy, Josh Little, Gavin Hoey and Jordan Neill who all miss out due to injury.

This will be the 13th Test for Ireland, and will be played at Stormont, Belfast.

There are four players in the squad who are in line to make their Test debuts, if selected: Jake Egan, Tom Mayes, Liam McCarthy and Reuben Wilson.
