Irfan Pathan and Mithun receive call-ups

Fast bowler Irfan Pathan has been called up by India to replace Umesh Yadav for the last two ODIs against the West Indies on Thursday and Sunday.

Yadav is part of a six-man group leaving early for the tour of Australia, freeing up a spot in the ODI squad for the remainder of the series.

Irfan has not played for India since 2009 but has been in good form in domestic cricket recently - taking 21 wickets in the Elite Division of the Ranji Trophy so far.

Meanwhile, Abhimanyu Mithun has been named as Praveen Kumar's replacement in the Indian Test squad for their upcoming series in Australia.

Kumar was forced to pull out with a fractured rib, giving promising right-armer Mithun a chance to impress.

The following individuals will leave early for Australia on December 8, ahead of their team-mates:

Rahul Dravid

Sachin Tendulkar

VVS Laxman

Ishant Sharma

Pragyan Ojha

Umesh Yadav

Wriddhiman Saha
