Cricket Indonesia will host 15 coaches from the East Asia - Pacific (EAP) region next week for the annual Advanced Coaching & Development seminar. The five day seminar starting on Monday 19 April will have representatives from Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, Japan, Cook Islands, Samoa, Fiji and for the first time South Korea will have a representative. At the completion of the seminar the coaches will have had over 30 hours of tuition from Coaches attending from Australia to present and pass on their knowledge.

This is the seventh EAP AC&D seminar and the first Cricket Australia level 2 course as well as the first time it has been held outside of Australia or New Zealand.

Of the four presenters, three hold the highest accreditation in Australia which is the Level 3 certificate and one has even been involved as assistant coach of the Australia World Cup Champions of 2005. The Western Australian Cricket Association will again support Cricket Indonesia and EAP with Aaron Hamilton to assist in the course next week.

As well as the four skill areas of the game, the course will cover other areas such as Psychology, Risk Management, Leadership, Game Sense, Principles of Teaching, Physical Conditioning as well as attending a local school and conducting coaching clinics.

"This is such a major programme of the year and the second biggest investment we make. The course is vital to increase their knowledge but also provide an opportunity for the coaches to learn from each other. One of the great things about being held Indonesia is not only to reward Cricket Indonesia for the amount of work they have done with their coaches but also we will have access to facilities similar to what the coaches have in their own backyard, though it is great to show of great facilities in Australia, the truth is our members are yet at that stage," Regional Development Officer Charlie Burke said on his arrival in preparation for the seminar.
