Fiji coach Steve Jenkin has admitted he is full of anticipation ahead of his side's opening clash against the USA at the Pepsi ICC World Cricket League Division 5.

And Jenkin believes that his side has had excellent preparation ahead of the start of the tournament.

"I am very excited. It is something we have set our sights since my arrival and we have trained the boys pretty hard," he said.

"We have had an Elite Player League which started in Fiji with all the elite players in the country playing in it. We have also had two months of hard training and the players have been playing in local competitions as well. "

Although Jenkin believes that qualification for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 is a distant dream for the six teams competing in Kathmandu this week, he believes that the Pepsi ICC World Cricket League provides important international exposure and context for the teams.

"I have only been involved in Associate and Affiliate cricket for a short time but without the competition, I am not sure cricket would be able to develop in the same way as it has. Players want to represent their country at the highest level," said Jenkin.

"If we can get in Division 4 for the next tournament and then stay there we will be very happy. If anybody who is in this tournament right now thinks that they can play in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 then they are imagining things."
