Jones, Taylor half-centuries help England to 3-0 series win
The weather intervened early on as England batted first prompting a change to a 39-over game. Half-centuries from Amy Jones and Sarah Taylor saw England reach an impressive 258/4 before a tidily impressive display from the hosts’ bowlers saw to 13th consecutive for England across formats.
Jones, who hit 91 in the first ODI, impressed once again, and alongside Tammy Beaumont put on 84 for the first wicket. From there the fun continued alongside Taylor in a second-wicket stand worth 87. Jones, celebrating her 26th birthday, hit six fours and one six in her innings but was unable to gift herself with a maiden international ton, falling for 80.
Taylor scored at pace with her 70 coming from just 61 balls, but it was Heather Knight who stole the show at the death, hitting 40 from just 19 balls.

Hayley Matthews, who took two wickets with the ball, highlighted her intent early on in the chase of 267 with a six off Kate Cross but perished the very next ball, Fran Wilson taking a stunning diving catch to her left at cover to remove the right-hander.
Cross was particularly impressive with the ball, returning 2/16 from her six overs, and the home side remained in control for the remainder of the match. Sophie Ecclestone’s left-arm spin also collected two wickets while Bryony Smith, making her ODI debut, collected her maiden international wicket with the dismissal of Natasha McLean.
Kycia Knight top-scored for her side with 38 but it simply wasn’t West Indies’ day – Stafanie Taylor was unable to bat after being sent to the hospital for an x-ray on her hand, compounding the visiting side’s misery.
Jones was named both Player of the Match and Player of the Series for her efforts. The three-match T20I series between both sides will commence on Tuesday in Northampton.
