Kenya notches up first win of tournament

Openers Alex Obanda and Duncan Allan featured in a century partnership which helped Kenya beat Oman by 35 runs for its first victory in the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier UAE 2012 at the ICC GCA, Oval 2, Dubai Sports City on Thursday.
In a Group B match, Obanda and Allan put on 105 runs in 13 overs as Kenya posted an imposing 176 for five. In turn, Oman finished at 141 for nine with Adnan Ilyas finishing as his side's top scorer with 35.
The Kenya openers were in a punishing mood, smashing 12 fours and two sixes between them. Man of the match Obanda belted seven fours and a six in his 38-ball 52 while Allan's 50-ball 51 included five fours and a six.
