The memorable performance saw several big milestones breached with India's finest etching their name in the record books.

Mandhana surpasses Mithali Raj
Smriti Mandhana capped off a stellar tournament by holding the record for most runs in a single ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup edition. Her total of 434 runs at an average of 54.25 surpassed Mithali Raj’s previous record of 409 from 2017.
Mandhana scored 45 in the final against South Africa, giving India the perfect platform at the top alongside Shafali Verma. She struck one century and two fifties and her consistent form throughout the campaign was crucial in helping India lift their maiden title.

Shafali Verma's record-breaking knock
Deemed the Aramco Player of the Match in the final, Shafali Verma smashed 87 off 79 balls in the final, setting a new record for the highest score by an Indian opener in a World Cup final. The previous best was Punam Raut’s 86 in 2017 against England and Virender Sehwag’s 82 in 2003 against Australia.
Shafali’s aggressive start alongside Mandhana powered India to 100 inside 15 overs. Her brisk scoring rate put South Africa’s bowlers under pressure and set the tone for India’s dominant batting display.

Harmanpreet Kaur's knockout run record
India captain Harmanpreet Kaur now holds the record for the most runs in the knockout stages of the Women’s ODI World Cup. She accumulated 331 runs across the semis and final, going past Australia’s Belinda Clark’s 330.
Although she scored 20 in the final, her steady hand through the tournament’s big moments was key to India’s success.

Deepti Sharma's all-round milestone
Deepti Sharma etched her name in World Cup history by becoming the first cricketer to score over 200 runs and take more than 20 wickets in a single edition. She finished the tournament with 215 runs and 22 wickets, including a match-winning 5/39 and a half-century in the final.
Deepti’s all-round brilliance turned the game in India’s favour after South Africa looked strong at 209/5. Her calm presence with the bat earlier in the innings, where she scored 58*, made her the frontrunner for the Aramco Player of the Tournament award.

Richa Ghosh levels six-hitting record
The power-hitter in the Indian batting unit, Richa Ghosh joined West Indies' Deandra Dottin atop the tally for most sixes in a single Women’s World Cup edition (12). Her ability to finish innings on a hight note was a standout feature of India’s campaign.
In the final, her quickfire 34-run cameo gave India a late push with the bat. Her strike rate and six-hitting ability made her one of the most formiddable middle-order proponents of the tournament.

India's prolific total in the record books
India’s score of 298 in the final against South Africa was the second-highest ever recorded in a Women’s World Cup final. Only Australia’s 356/5 against England in the 2022 final stands higher.
India’s innings was built on strong partnerships at the top and a composed lower-order effort that saw them close out the innings strongly. The target would eventually prove too much for South Africa, who were bowled out for 246.
