Nuwan Kulasekara, who dislocated one of the joints on his left finger during Sri Lanka’s 39-run win over West Indies on Monday (July 8) at Port of Spain in the Celkon Mobile tri-series, has been replaced by Suranga Lakmal.

Kulasekara also had a wound that required suturing. X-rays showed no fracture and the finger was relocated. He will be reviewed by the doctor in a couple of days, and will also get an ultrasound to check for any ligament and tendon damage. At this stage, the estimated recovery time is 7-10 days, however, this will become clearer following the upcoming review and scan.

Lakmal last played for Sri Lanka in the home Test series against Bangladesh earlier this year and was a part of the 'A' team that toured West Indies recently. He was the best bowler on both sides in the List A matches, where he picked up a total of eight wickets in three matches.

Sri Lanka has already qualified for the finals and will play its last league game against India on Tuesday (July 9).
