West Indies closed with a lead of 215 runs with four second-wicket innings remaining to set up an intriguing final day at the Shere Bangla National Stadium.

Batsmen continued to dominate for much of the fourth day until the tourists lost five wickets for 35 in the last hour as spin began to play its part.

Bangladesh had earlier moved on to 556 - a first innings lead of 37 - with seventh-wicket pair Nasir Hossain (96) and Mahmudullah (62) moving their partnership on to 121.

Shahadat Hossain (13) put on a further 61 with Nasir for the ninth-wicket before the latter just missed out on his first Test century when he edged a Tino Best slower ball to Chris Gayle at slip.

Sunil Narine picked up three wickets on day four to offer a sign of things to come as slow bowlers started to achieve more success as the pitch got older.

Seam bowler Rubel Hossain (2-35) picked up the first two wickets in the West Indies second innings before off-spinner Sohag Gazi (2-63) and slow left-armer Shakib Al Hasan (2-56) took over.

Kieran Powell (110) and Darren Bravo (76) added 189 for the second wicket after Chris Gayle (19) fell cheaply for the second time in the match. Powell hit his second century of the match - and his third in three Tests - while Bravo played equally fluently as the hosts struggled for a breakthrough.

Bravo's demise - caught behind off Rubel - then gave Bangladesh an opportunity to challenge the incoming batsmen against their spinners. Marlon Samuels (1), Denesh Ramdin (5) and Veerasammy Permaul (10) - in the final over of the day - failed the test while Powell finally succumbed after surviving 197 balls.
