Khatun had kept Bangladesh in the hunt with a brilliant spell that turned the tide of the game. The leg-spinner picked up three quick wickets, dismissing Nat Sciver-Brunt, Sophia Dunkley and Emma Lamb to leave England reeling after losing half their side.
Khatun first broke a promising 40-run stand between Sciver-Brunt and Knight when Sciver-Brunt miscued a full toss to short midwicket. She then trapped Dunkley in front for a duck in the same over. Khatun continued her fine spell by striking again as Lamb was caught out, bringing Bangladesh right back into the contest.
Marufa Akter gave Bangladesh the perfect start in the powerplay by dismissing openers Amy Jones and Tammy Beaumont. Jones was trapped in front in the very first over with a sharp inswinger that caught her by surprise. Beaumont also departed in similar fashion.
