Lomary and Moce Record Wins On Day 3

Moce Islanders scored their second win from two games at the Fiji Women's National Championships after defeating Nadi Jetsetters shooting them to the top of the tournament table, while Lomary Schoolies had a win over Veimataqali to keep their title hopes alive.

Moce's win over Nadi with two bonus points has kept their tournament title hopes alive with the win, but the young team still to play Suva and Lomary which will be the test of their championship ambitions.

Moce batted first and were all out for 91. Arieta Tagilala was her team's top scorer with 24 before she was caught and bowled by Mareta Vuadreu.

Miriama Talatoka had the second-top score with 17 in her team's competitive total.

Maraia Violet took 4 for 10 from 4 overs while Mareta Vuadreu claimed 3 for 29 including three of the top four Moce batters.

The Jetsetters chased valiantly and at 4 for 47 they looked a fair chance of chasing the target thanks to a good innings from Salote Divosi (15). However the tail didn't was and they were dismissed for 72, leaving them 20 runs short of victory.

Anaseini Maidela took four wickets, while Silipa Tikosaya and Miriama Talatoka claimed three wickets each.

Lomary bowled first in their match against Veimataqali and once again restricted their opponents to a low total.

Veimataqali could only manage 68 runs in their innings, with Marica Vua continuing her wicket taking ways with a six wicket haul. So far this tournament she has taken 14 wickets from three games to be one of the competition's leading bowlers.

Sainiana Qoro also bowled well to take 3 for 23 from nine overs to keep the Veimataqali total at a reachable level.

In reply, the win never looked in doubt as Lomary reached their target in the 10th over for the loss six wickets to record their second win from three matches and claim two bonus points.

Their title hopes will rest on winning their last match and hoping that Moce can defeat Suva Flying Angels on Friday, which will see the tournament title decided on bonus points and possibly run rate.
