Hamilton Masakadza smashed a career-best century to help Zimbabwe defeat Kenya by a massive 142 runs in the final ODI played in Harare on Sunday. With this victory, the hosts finish the series with a 4-1 victory over Kenya.

Masakadza led the onslaught early on, smashing 17 fours and five sixes as the opening bat on his way to an unbeaten 178 in 167 balls. He was joined by Forster Mtizwa (55 in 65 balls) and Brendan Taylor (52 in 48 balls) as they tore up the Kenyan bowling attack to post a huge total of 329-3 in 50 overs.

In the run chase to the massive total, Kenya failed to get the necessary start and stumbled with loss of early wickets. Chris Mpofu (3-44) and Ray Price (2-15) were the pick of the bowlers as the visitors were dismissed for 187 in 39.3 overs. Jimmy Kamande top-scored for Kenya with 37 in 63 balls.

Masakadza was awarded the Player of the Series and the Player of the Match for his splendid effort.
