'Massive' – Isobel Joyce on awarding of T20I status to all Twenty20 matches
Joyce said it was "massive" and that the effect it had was particularly evident during the ICC Women's World Twenty20 2018 Qualifiers in the Netherlands in July. "We've been in the top 10 for the last number of years, so our games against the top nations have counted," she said. "But we don't play them very much.
"(But) it really was lovely to see how much it meant to the teams that we were playing in the qualifier in the Netherlands. A lot of those teams had huge cheers for when they got on the pitches. It was a massive occasion. I don't know why you wouldn't want that. It's only going to do good for cricket."

Joyce recounted playing against Papua New Guinea, who had special caps made for a T20I. "Keeping that kind of thing to a small number of countries makes no sense to me," said Joyce. "Papua New Guinea had special caps for their for the T20 game that they went and wore in the field that first day.
"Baggy red and black ones. That was a really nice touch. All these little things make a massive difference, (and) just don't cost us anything.
"It's an easy decision for them to make, but I'm glad they made it."

Ireland, who suffered a third straight defeat at the ICC World T20 2018 against India in Guyana, are one of the two qualifiers in the tournament, Bangladesh being the other.
It has been a tough tournament for Ireland, but Joyce, who has been a part of the Ireland squad for almost two decades, insisted they would continue to "aim higher" despite the disappointment.
“The occasion … I don't think the occasion gets to us," she said. "But this is just another day for the Indian girls. It's a huge occasion for us. That's not where we want to be.
"We want to be a team that are used to playing these kinds of games day in, day out. We want to become a professional side."
