India and South Africa have met 66 times in ODI cricket with South Africa winning 40 matches and India 24, with two no-results. They have met twice in ICC Champions Trophy tournaments with India winning both matches.
It won by 95 runs at Nairobi in 2000 and by 10 runs at Colombo in 2002. South Africa won the competition in 1998.
India was joint-winner in 2002.

Virat Kohli is India’s highest-ranked batsman in third place. In his last 17 matches he averages 68.14 with five centuries. MS Dhoni is one place behind him having spent a total of 256 matches as the top-ranked ODI batsman.
Dinesh Karthik scored centuries in each of India’s two warm-up matches, but his highest ODI score in 52 matches is just 79.
Ravindra Jadeja has taken 13 wickets at just 15.53 apiece with an economy rate of 3.32 per over in his seven matches in 2013 and is India’s highest-ranked bowler in 8th place.

South Africa boasts the top two batsmen in ODI cricket – Hashim Amla – who averages 56.60 in his career – and AB de Villiers who averages 76.56 with ten centuries in his 46 matches since the start of 2010.
