Ever since his whirlwind knock of 89 off just 43 balls in his maiden Twenty20 International for Australia, David Warner has attracted massive attention and the latest to comment on the 22-year old sensation is former Australian great Glenn McGrath.

The erstwhile fast bowler has said he is looking forward to seeing David Warner joining him for the Delhi Daredevils in the Indian Premier League.

"I am looking forward to spending some time with him at Daredevils," said McGrath to the Daily Telegraph.

Impressed by what he saw of the youngster, McGrath, who spearheaded the Daredevils' attack in the inaugural edition of the IPL last year said, "David is a guy who goes out there and plays his game with an uncomplicated approach.”

"He hits the ball as hard as anyone I have seen, times it, he's strong," he added.

Warner smashed 89 runs off just 43 balls on his Twenty20 debut to guide Australia to a thumping win and bagged the Man of the Match award.

The youngster made history by becoming the first Australian since the 19th century to represent the country without playing first-class cricket.

The Delhi Daredevils were quick to spot his talent and had signed him immediately for the second season even before he made his debut for Australia.

However, the veteran bowler said that although Warner has the potential to fill in the void left in the team by the departure of Matthew Hayden, he should first represent New South Wales and learn the nuances of the game by playing first-class cricket.

"Give him a handful of games to provide him a bit of experience," the retired pacer said.
