MEDIA ADVISORY ON ICC MEN’S T20 WORLD CUP 2021 ACCREDITATION (NOT FOR PUBLICATION)
The ICC is currently planning the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021, hosted by the BCCI in Oman and the UAE. We are committed to keeping all participants in the event safe and as such, the ICC Medical Advisory Committee (MAC) has recommended all accredited media are fully vaccinated with respect to COVID-19 as a condition of attending, a recommendation endorsed by our hosts.
It should also be borne in mind that there is a possibility that the host countries and/or ports of departure and return may also require travellers to be fully vaccinated.****
There may be additional conditions of entry imposed upon accredited individuals by our host governments and we will share this information and any other protocols that may dictate attendance in due course. At this stage, we are planning for fans and media to be in attendance, but we will confirm this along with numbers allowed following discussions with governments.
At this stage, we are planning on operating a hybrid media operations model, similar to that used at the ICC World Test Championship Final, where all media services are made available to all media regardless of attendance. This will include press conferences, transcripts, news service etc.
We are sure you’ll appreciate that these measures are vital if we’re to stage a safe multi-team global event involving thousands of accredited personnel. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.
